Systems Engineer Interview

Systems Engineer
Dublin, Dublin (Ireland)

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at eircom in March 2011.

Interview Details – Went in through recruit agency who messed my around a little bit and were difficult to get a hold of as the interview stage was progressing.
Had a phone screening interview first, followed by an onsite technical interview and a final interview with HR, manager and senior manager.
Technical interview was not very difficult as mainly conducted by the manager who didn't appear to be that technical within the field of Systems Administration. Very broad, general questions around systems administration (RAID, performance, outages, hardware, logging, etc.)

Interview Question – What technical achievement/accomplishment have you done to date that makes you the most proud of?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – As mentioned, recruitment company were rubbish and was told to negotiate through them - this meant practically no movement on the initial offer
