They were looking for seasonal employees. I applied via internet, and got a call about a week later. I went into the store wearing casual but not trashy clothing. They sat me down and interviewed me. They asked very standard interview questions. Right after, they said I got the job, and I began work on Black Friday.
I can't say I like their philosophy though. It's more about treating customers as consumers, and less about treating them as people. They focused on selling a bunch right away, instead of giving a good vibe that makes customers want to come back.

I applied online and came in the store to say I had applied. They called me later on in the week and I had an interview with the store manager and they made an offer. Typical questions asking about strenths and weaknesses, sales, customer service.

I applied on the web page for the position and was later called on. The interview was with the district manager at a store. It took about 45 minutes and we discussed my skills and previous work history. No panel or anything like that. Afterwards I had to take a drug test and have a background test done.

Applied online and received a phone call to set up an interview the next day; came ten minutes early and was encouraged to walk around the store as I waited for the manager. They asked the usual interview questions (experience, availability, etc.), as well as questions checking how much I know about music and movies and what my favorite genres were. (They were pleased to hear that I'm a music major and could offer tons of knowledge on most genres.) It was a fairly short, relaxed interview and I was offered a job on the spot.
Be friendly on the phone, be friendly to staff when you enter the store, be friendly to any customers you run into the day of the interview. More than experience, they definitely want people they can enjoy working with.

First, I went to FYE's website and clicked "Careers". Then I filled in my information, and then they had a questionnaire that evaluates what kind of person you are. After two days I got a call from the manager asking me for an interview. I agreed, so I met him at the store for a one-on-one interview. The manager was very casual and friendly, which was an example of how casual the store was. He basically asked me questions about myself and my hobbies, and random questions like what type of movie I would be. The interview didn't feel like an interview. Instead it felt like a nice conversation. After I answered his questions, he hired me on the spot and that's how I got the job.
