Interview Question for Store Manager at Goodwill:

Find out the reasons why. Talk to that employee, but also have a relationship with all the employees so they feel comfortable bringing up issues. Do they no longer like working there? Is it all parts of the job or just one aspect? Are they being harrassed? Is there something personal that is weighing on their mind and distracting them? Is it a health issue? Did they not receive adequate training or are still struggling with some of the job details?

Basically, find out the underlying issue and try to resolve that, or refer them to the appropriate resource (ie: human resources, trainer, job coach). Remind them of the performance goals and ask if there is anything you can do to help them meet those goals. Reassure them you are there to help them succeed but also let them know they will need to improve their performance to avoid receiving a warning. Document your conversation. Follow-up to ensure improvement.
