Interviewed Jan 2009 in Bangalore (India) (took a day)
all rounds are elimination rounds.
1st an aptitude test is conducted followed by 3 interviews.
the aptitude test consists of objective type questions only. average mathematical and logical reasoning questions are asked. questions are of the c.b.s.e. 10th std. level. r.s.aggarwal's quantitative ability book can be refered.
interviews consist of 2 technical and 1 HR interview. can be in any order.
the HR interview is simple and regular in nature.
in both technical interviews you would be questioned about basic concepts of programming. these questions are also predictable and regular. you would be asked to name your favourite subjects in college and further questions would be based on the subjects you name.
in one interview you would be asked to write a basic program in any programming language of our choice(e.g. factorial of n numbers) and in the other you would be asked to solve a puzzle. these puzzles are not tough and are asked to judge your logical ability.
all the 3 interviewers i faced were polite and friendly in nature. they made me feel comfortable first and then proceeded with the interview.
iGate would also take your family background, schooling, personality, logical thinking and spoken english into consideration, programming skills alone are not enough.
all my interviews were 1:1 in nature.
