I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at ifm Efector in March 2014.
Interview Details – I received an email requesting a phone interview within 3 days of applying online which I scheduled a few days out to research the company and prepare. The interviewer was straight to the point to put it mildly, but rushed and rude would really be a better description. The interviewer was very forceful demanding a specific salary and relocation compensation requirement. I declined to proceed with the interview partially because our numbers were off, but primarily due to the attitude of the interviewer. It was really off-putting and I wasn't sure whether to laugh or feel insulted when I got off the phone.
Interview Question – "Let's get right to the point, what are your compensation requirements - give me a specific number" Answer Question
I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at ifm Efector in November 2011.
Interview Details – STAR behavioural Question. WIth All the Senior level Management.
Very Difficult Interview
The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at ifm Efector in July 2008.
Interview Details – Extremely rigid. I don't think I would put in that much time and effort for any potential interviewer again. Spent a lot of time on online skills/personality tests. Position is still open, 9 months later, incredibly. I would surmise they are a very rigid and difficult employer. The position was ideally suited to a partial or full telecommute--but none of the existing SE's are allowed to do that nor was it mentioned as an eventual option during the interviewing process. I did not apply, my resume was picked off of Monster by the in house recruiter. I know that I did not do that well during the in person interview as I was getting to be very turned off by the whole process at that point. The hiring manager in particular, did not seem like someone I would want to work with or for.
Interview Question – Many "behavioural" questions, asking me to describe an event in the past when.....(insert various scenarios-- a client was mad at you, someone did something illegal at a previous job--some of these things never happened to me making it difficult to answer. ) They also asked the same questions repeatedly in slightly varied ways to see if you were consistent in your answers I suppose. Overall--exhausting. Answer Question
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at ifm Efector.
Interview Details – Phone interview
Interview Question – None, all basic behavioral type questions. Interviewer refused to answer several questions they found "leading" Answer Question
The process took 5 days - interviewed at ifm Efector in August 2010.
Interview Details – Interviewed for a general engineering position. Phone interview and then a one-on-one interview.
Perceptions: Not very clear on what the company wanted. Was made to understand that the job involved sensor integration to hardware and DSP. However turned out that the real requiremetn was an hardcore discrete parts low level analog engineer who did not require much s/w or DSP knowledge. Was told that my skillset was not compatible with their requirements
Interview Question – Debug a complete low level analog circuit that was the basis of a sensor. used op amps, transistors and resistors and potential dividers View Answer
