The interview was one of the easiest I have had. We started off discussing my past employers, then spent a lot of time discussing loss prevention, since theft is such a huge problem for rue21. Luckily, I was well versed in lp, so it made the interview process a breeze. I was set up with a phone interview with a dm in training the following week, who asked me a few very basic questions (not even management related). A few days later, I received an offer, countered it, and was given an even better offer than the one I made, so I accepted.

walked in, asked for an application and got an interview date immediately. Before i asked for an application, i talked to the manager and was very friendly, i guess that's why she set me up with an interview on the spot. The interview was very easy and laid back. Ask questions like "why rue 21?" "where do you see yourself in 5 years?"

I first applied a week or two prior to getting a call. I was finally called a couple times by the interviewer a few days before to set up a time to meet up. I had to fill out another application in front of the interviewer. They asked me simple questions and didn't really discuss anything about the job - I had to ask them more questions about what the job entails. They said that they wanted to hire people as soon as possible and since I wanted another job I accepted the offer that day.

I make more money at my other job so they were willing to give me more than minimum wage. I did not negotiate with them, they told me they were willing to pay me more.

My friend referred me to this position and told the store manager about me. After I turned in my application, I let it sit for about a week and then called to schedule an interview. A couple days later I had my interview with the store manager and her assistant. We sat right outside the store in the mall area for about fifteen minutes going back and forth on basic interview questions regarding customer service, sales...etc. After the interview the manager said she would call me in one to two weeks to let me know if I did or didn't get the job.
About a week and a half later I called back to follow up on my interview and the store manager stated that she was still interviewing people and would call me to let me know regardless of if I got the job or not. Ummm...yeah, that never happened. I later found out from my friend that she hired several other people since then.

Well, I was told to come back for an interview as an assistant manager.
At the time of interview I was told the person I was going to replace decided to stay, and that they were going to help transfer me elsewhere since I was overly qualified.
Then the store didn't meet the loss prevention requirements and I was told that I wasn't allowed to be promoted. Even though the paper specified that management couldn't be transferred or promoted and I was temporarily working an as associate.
Then I was told they didn't give me the interview when the position was made available because I was trying to change their policies when I was trying to show them what their policies actually read.

I had attempted to negotiate my pay but they wouldn't budge from minimum wage. With the promise of advancement I took it. But then they never kept their promise. A waste of time.

Well, to become an assistant manager you have to be interviewed by 3 different people. First by the store manager of the store you applied to, then by the District manager, if you pass the district manager you get to be interviewed by the regional manager.

Was recruited by a Store Manager to apply for Assistant Manager position. Interviewed with 2 different Store Managers and they both asked about the same series of questions, one manager changing it up a little bit from the other. They both liked me and forwarded my information to the District Manager. District Manager interviewed me the following week, it was about an hour long interview. The interview went well, and I gave the DM my salary requirements for the position. After a week of internal negotiations, they got the pay rate of $11.50 approved.

Reason for Declining
I declined the offer because the store needs a lot of help and work to come back to a normal operating store, and after doing the math, I felt that it would require more money for the months and months of hard work I would have to put into the store to get it back to where corporate thought it should be. I was also told by the DM that I would be held responsible in this store as a Store Manager, because of the situation. Once I received the offer, I only had 3 hours to think about it and make a decision, which was definitely not long enough, given the situation at hand.

I completed the personality test online a month or two prior to coming in to apply in person. As I walked in, an experienced sales associate greeted me and I expressed my interest for working at Rue 21. She then proceeded to hand me an application and told me to return it ASAP because of the need for seasonal workers (winter). Store policy requires you to apply outside of the store (for some odd reason). As I returned, the Assistant Manager approached me and offered me an interview later in the afternoon. Later on that evening, I was interviewed by the store manager who had one of the best personalities in the world! The interview was very laid back, and we pretty much interviewed in as if we were in a casual conversation. The sales associate, assistant manager, and store manager that I encountered were all extremly friendly! Got a call back 8 days later to fill out paperwork.

Applied online (filled out an "Expression of Interest" on the company website) in June and got a call in August to schedule an interview. The interview was laid-back and I simply talked about my past employment experiences and what I had gained from them. I was told I was perfect for the position and got a call a few days later to come in and fill out paperwork.
