Interviewed Oct 2008 in Yorkville, IL (took a day)
The interview was pretty typical of other interviews I've had, talking one-on-one with an interviewer. I did talk to two different people; one would have been a co-worker, and the other would have been my superior. I appreciated their honesty about the work environment and my portfolio, and they weren't unkind. However, I felt I wouldn't be able to grow as much as I would have liked in the company, or use my creative skills as much as I would have liked. I also felt that their insistence on using table-based layouts was not forward-thinking, as any technology company should be (they shouldn't be stuck in the past!!!). Everyone there seemed nice but stressed, and they described their boss (the owner of the company) as really controlling and verbally abusive, which certainly scared me away.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Partly because I realized I needed to learn more, and partly because they were not interested in moving to CSS-based layouts. They only wanted to use table-based layouts, and I felt they should have been more open to newer technologies and/or ways of doing things. Plus, I was put off by the description of the owner of the business, who was made out to be very controlling and mean.

The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.
