Indian IT industry is basically sservice oriented and amount of Research and Development in IT is lagging and organizations have neither interest nor deep pockets to sustain such expenses also the institutional ressearch from premier institutes like IIT or REC are not much encouraging which can sustain or compliment such actions. In IT sector the mantra is Fast Release of Innovative Products and gain profits out of it. Indian market has neither the interest nor the leadership mentality to do so as it still looks basically at western markets to decide on its future roles and simply tries to replicate their processes. Which makes Indian innovators out of market of such New Product creaitons. Thus Indian IT industry works on the same Profesional Fees which it was charging to its clients in 1999 even today while inflation, exchange rates have reduced their margins and hence it is at its near saturation levels. Also there is very little Hardware production capabilities being created in India by any international organization the way they did it in China or Taiwan for that matter and hence even hardware design whhich can be a very lucrative business is lagging in India. All these are impacting the growth of Indian IT industry.
