    I worked at ABC-CLIO full-time (More than a year)


    The people. They're the only reason I liked the job. The product is also interesting but not marketed well enough. Most positions are hourly so they're pretty good about letting you go home on time. However, they're very strict about overtime so even if you stay later you won't get paid for it. It has to be preapproved in order for it to be paid.


    Management has no idea what they're doing, the company is going downhill, and the employee turnover is laughable.

    Advice to Management

    Get it together, come up with plans. The marketing department hasn't had a marketing plan in over a year, and it's pathetic. Pay your employees more! The pay is awful. Hire better managers, who are actually willing to learn about the different aspects of everyone's jobs and don't micromanage so much that people can't do their jobs.
