    I have been working at ABS-CBN full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    My department has an understanding director that actually values their team and work/life balance, company events go all out with food, most co workers are nice, building is equipped with surveillance (no fear of having personal belongings stolen), steady paycheck if you are needed and your position hasn't been categorized for outsourcing or cheaper labor in the Philippines, great benefits and decent PTO policies.

    Cons

    Not enough company and team building events, most people who work here don't even know what their co workers do for the company, most people aren't updated with what happens in other areas of the company, slow or no growth for employees, raises and bonuses exist but surely only highest executives get the most of it. Organizational changes are only memo'd to the global regions if it's a director or high level position, but there is never any mention of regional movements and how my co workers are in new departments or roles. You introduce new employees once a year, if at all. Computers are old for rank and file employees who do the dirty work but top level officers get expensive equipment so they can send emails....? Some managers are obvious with favoritism and really show it. Compensation is not market rate in the US, unless you are a director or higher. HR never reviews or assesses annual performance appraisals to determine if an employee's rate matches their work load. If it's low and saves money, HR won't say anything. if the employee brings it up, it goes through a complicated and long process before one can be approved for better pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    This company has too many heads and directors and managers, and nobody below you know what you really do or what your title means. Develop and promote from within, instead of laying off employees with trade skills and investing in this company's growth. You bring in hot shots from other companies to fill a big executive or director role, none of which is ever known to your employees was even available. You show very little value to your employees who want to earn an honest living and ready to give all their effort and dedication to edge you over your network rivals.

    My last advice is this company needs to strive to be on the "top 25 companies" to work for. It has so much promise to be that kind of company but instead some of your priorities are elsewhere: and most of us don't even know what this company's priorities are.
