    I worked at AMF Bowling full-time (more than 10 years)


    You get to meet a lot of different people whether its customers or employees. You will learn how "not to" be treated so you will appreciate your future employer more as you reflect back to AMF days. Another PRO is you get a paycheck every 2 weeks. You are suppose to have a performance review annually.


    Raises are nonexistent or could be considered a slap in the face. I remember for a 3 year span, no employee received a raise even if that employee performed good/great - they had a wage freeze for 3 years! If and when they do hand out merit raises, its not uncommon to receive a 1% - 2% increase EVEN if you performed good/great. So if you are making $10 an hour, congratulations you just received an increase of $4 - $8 more a week based on a 40 hour schedule. That is their way of thanking you for doing a good job the last 52 weeks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Do the right thing, treat your employees right and they will take care of the rest. Remember, if all you District Managers and above all left at the same time; the company would still function. If the General Managers and below all left at the same time; the company would fold.
