    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Company direction appears to be changing their front line customer service to better service their clientele, 401K with match and ESP plan are a plus, PTO is given quickly, front line workers are still unionized, lower management opportunities are plentiful nationwide. Average pay is decent, even without any previous degree or experience; however, commission income has significantly decreased.

    Cons

    Work-life balance is non-existent (especially with blackout periods for product launches), management is chaotic which results in crazy goals to push unpopular products onto their customers (e.g. wireless home-phone solutions, multi-point home severance systems, traditional-wired products in other markets) leading to poor customer service and shady service deals that are driven by the store managers ethics and personal quota demands, lower management does not recognize or support the employee union program, middle management is generally clueless about store operations and does not generate improved moral during / after visits to work-sites.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Realign management and reclaim the moral that was once apart of the organization. Add more supportive networks for employees (e.g. better substance abuse networking), develop career goal pathway program for students / employees to guide themselves to their ultimate career goals with AT&T.
