I have been working at AT&T full-time (Less than a year)
Based on my experience (as such, it is limited). Worked at HP as a contractor prior to coming on board. HP was/is a makeshift tent, but AT&T is more conservative when it comes to HR management; hence, there are plenty of people at ATT who worked here forever--15, 25, 35, 40 years... And for that reason, I can't think of an easy way to get on with AT&T (corp side). This is the case especially because the hiring funnel now is the college hire program like the TDP or LDP program that hire directly from colleges (and 75% are engineering and CS majors).
Can't think of one right now... But it depends on the group you are with and department.
Advice to Management
I was thinking... If Google can make money off of a web browser, why in the world can't AT&T do that and more? I can do without Google, but I can't do without data service (cell service, data). No reason why AT&T can't have their own browser to compete with Google. There just a lot more potential and infrastructure for business than any internet browser company. Hence, they started the TDP program, but I think we need to expand this program and keep on moving forward with innovation.
