Working there was great, until drama ensued.

    I worked at AT&T

    Pros

They provide great benefits and pay. I know the match quite a bit for 401K investment. It is a great job for someone interested in technology and learning about new technologies. Also, it is great to know that you are helping others out on a daily basis.

    Cons

Poor management skills are what eventually forced me to quit. The senior management team was very unfair when it came to dealing with conflicts, and most of the time, they would "sweep the problems under the rug". Sales goals are very unobtainable, which is a problem when your job depends on meeting sales goals month after month. There is also lack of individual praise, and the management team tends to focus all of the efforts on themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In order to keep employees interested in their job, give feedback often. Numerous times we were not recognized for the work that we did as the "face" of AT&T to the public. We are the low ones on the totem pole that keep AT&T afloat and competitive in an ever-growing market. It would have been nice to have some sort of recognition for all of the hard work and money we put into the pockets of upper-management.
