  • Overall positive, but a couple of my leaders should have been case studies for an "Abnormal Psychology" course.

Great benefits. Great work-life balance. Salary good if you work steadily through many years. I worked as a Telecommuter for many years and this worked great for me since I was not able to drive at times due to some health issues which did not affect my work. I just couldn't drive at times.

Received notice I was being laid off my second day in the hospital with pneumonia. I had a great attendance history with only missing 2 days due to illness in a dozen years. Our Vice President would occasionally verbally abuse (yell at them for about 5 minutes) at one or two of the team during staff meetings. This had a real negative effect on the whole team. However, most all of my experience with management over the years was positive.

    Advice to Management

It is pretty transparent to your team whether or not you really "walk the talk". If you just say what the corporation tells you to say, but you do not demonstrate those values, your people know it. Again, most of my management team did well at this. There were a couple of big exceptions.
