I worked at AT&T full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

good benefits, lots of overtime even if unwanted, good work company, awesome place to be if get a decent manager who isn't a suck butt just interested in personal numbers at the expense of employees.

    Cons

supply issues on materials needed for install/repairs. favorites in groups, if do not push out 7 jobs a day or more you are considered a failure, even if just starting out with company. No real guidelines for new employees, union issues are non existent as management doesn't want to get involved. if any complaints management will become uninterested unless it involves them. Very high turnover rate, some state around up to 75%. If sick even if been at company for awhile you get chewed out even with a doctor visit and showing up to work same morning. management considers you a dog (stated by other department employees on treatment of prem.techs) that must work till very late, most nights getting home around 10pm to midnight and being back to work next day before 8am. 6days a week, weekends included. Management will give negative feedback (you should quit, you don't belong here) if don't work to the 7job a day. Lies to convince new employees to work harder even though no fruition of such lies (if push out 5 jobs before 5pm you can go home on time etc...) Half the team will quit in a 2week time frame and management will think its with the employees instead of own training/mgmt. style. Management will back each other because nothing will be done even if someone brings up bad issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advise employees on overtime requirements, about if no messages on job pool status before one hour before shift is over. gives the employees the right to go home on time. Use of personnel to manage the supply room and prevent inventory theft. Use of checks and balances to verify orders received and where the items are going to. Use of printouts and monthly audits of orders. have union meeting monthly about issues of starting work before time starts, clocking out early to increase numbers for senior techs.
