I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good benefits and Flexibility. Lots of online training courses and great vacation.
Leadership in Dallas seem to have a great vision of where the company should be going.

    Cons

Stressful and no real job security. Functional organization whereby ideas have to come from the top, to be accepted.
White males in management are virtually non-existent on the mobility side There is widespread bias in favor of minorities in hiring and promotions.
Lots of Social loafing takes place among tenured employees.
Must be a member of an ERG group to get higher paid assignments.
Most managers do not seem to have a degree.
Pay is not great compared to competitors. Company culture does not encourage dissent and therefore you end up with a bunch of yes people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote based on merit NOT gossip. Pay is weak compared to competitors.
Do something about that so you can retain top talent NOT just your buddies.
