Great place to work but easy to get stuck in a rut.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Strong and stable company
    Master of your own training
Great people who help and work with you in getting tasks done
The company really tried to live up to its own core values
    Puts ethics first

    Cons

Where I am located I can only do CBT training, nothing in English
Training budgets have been slashed for 2 years in a row now
Promotions are slow and usually require retirement, manager promotion, or new department opening up
Limited opportunities for non consulting side, if you don't interact with clients fewer opportunities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Publish, promote, and stick to road maps each year and progress towards it each quarter. Town hall meetings are nice but non consulting side has no clear direction from SE level down and we are not sure what or why we are doing some of the things we are doing. The clarity comes when company wide global projects for a technology refresh happen, between these there are dead zones of communications. Stop re-organizing the IT department every 18 to 24 months.
