    I have been working at Accruent full-time


    As a company, Accruent is impressive in that you can see in it's actions that it's really focused on continual improvement. The company adapts to it's customers needs, takes action on employee feedback, and the fact that we're able to make changes so quickly is what makes it feel like a startup, but the company's focus on financial results keeps us from having to worry about mass layoffs or not getting paid. I can also tell from the leadership that's been brought in over the past year, that the company is focused on ensuring success as well as a continuation of our focus on culture, from the top down. We've made amazing improvements in the past year alone, and I'm impressed and thankful that the company is showing that it hears what people have been saying and is does something about what it hears. Awesome events for employees over the past few months - AccruentCon was unique and really fun, and the opportunity to build a house with Habitat for Humanity, and get to meet and work alongside the woman who will be living in it was an amazing experience. I can see the investment the company is making on the employees through things like this.


    The acquisition strategy we take is very aggressive, and can be tiring for some employees (where others find it exciting and opens new doors for personal growth). I do think we improve on the way we integrate companies and communicate among existing teams with every acquisition, having gone through a few now myself. The products side of the organization is another area that needs to change in order for us to innovate, which I understand takes time because it involves complicated things like customers and huge technology investments over a period of time. I don't doubt that the new VP of Engineering and other leaders are working on a solution, but would like more communication on this front.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing, but don't let up on the focus on culture and how company changes impact the people. Thank you for putting teams in place to pay attention to this stuff and take action on the feedback you're getting. Showing that you trust your employees will cause that trust to be reciprocated, and will show in our results. Don't be afraid to be generous with trust and communication to your people!
