Former Employee - Reach Truck Operator in Enid, OK

I worked at AdvancePierre Foods full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits offered are outstanding. Cheap medical, vision and dental, weekly pay, great 401k, they are willing to train you in whatever position they hire you into. I got riderjack, forklift, reach truck, and other manufacturing food safety certification without any prior experience.

    Cons

They cannot keep enough employees to satisfy their need so the workload gets passed on to everyone else. On one plant the manager seemed to ignore the shortage and by making us sign job descriptions she expected to eventually place the blame on the employees. On the other plant they threaten us to deduct points and fire us if we didn't show up for "mandatory" days, which eventually the CEO came in and stated that they could not force us to work overtime. Too bad thing are not like "back in the day."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rethink your strategy and your point system. Employees that take work lightly or as a joke are better be replaced as soon as possible, for you can loose employees that wish to work and grow with the company.
