    I worked at Advanced Technology Services full-time


    On the positive side, I made many great friends with the people I worked with directly. These are the people who truly deserve all of the credit and benefits for making this company what it is. Also, this may be a good, temporary stopping point for employment for someone just entering the workforce.


    Contract maintenance and IT services. What more can I say? Do not plan on having a lifetime career with this company. If you are one of the best you will either leave at your own will or be let go. Do not stay until you are too old to get a job, because as you top out in your pay-scale, you will eventually be put out to pasture. Promotional opportunities have become more and more of fitting into the “good old boy” system. I truly always looked out for the best interest of the company, and made many sacrifices to become better at my job and to help prepare for a long future with ATS. If this is you, I would suggest not investing a lot of personal time doing this because you will only get burned out and then let go if you show too much desire to move up the ladder. Hiring managers are threatened of people like this.

    Advice to Management

    Please be more attentive with what is really going on at the site and area levels (I realize HR is suppose to be the eyes and ears for this, but this is not effective). Some people have the education, skill, and desire to move into more challenging roles (e.g. leadership positions), but hiring managers appear to feel threatened by this because of their lack of real leadership skills or higher education. I think someone needs to take a very close look at this. Additionally, more and more customers just want to get to the basics of having their factories well maintained. Many are not interested in all of the bells and whistles that ATS attempts to provide (e.g. CMMS metrics, continuous process improvements, etc.) To many customers, this is all fuzzy math that really doesn't prove much. The customer truly wants tangible proof and evidence that they can see, touch, hear, and smell; not spreadsheets full of numbers, charts and graphs that could potentially be fabricated.
