The enviornment is very fast paced and employees are exposed to responsibilities quicker than at more stable companies. Even though there is a lot of stress, most of your fellow employees are decent hard workers and are generally willing to help newcomers. Since tenure of most employees are short compared to other companies, there is not the ingrained culture that you "have to fit into". Ex-employees tend to continue their relationships with each other after they leave, if for no other reason than to warn others.
You will never be bored at ACS, particularly if you are in middle management. I was in the finance area.Cons
Essentially employees are treated as if they were temporaries. When the job is done so are they. The prevailing attitude is that we can hire replacements cheaper than you when we need to. This is the attitude of Senior Management, primarily in Dallas. I was in middle management, at the Director level and like most of my peers was astounded at the inability of Senior Management to see past the next quarter.
There is a relentless pressure to produce more with less and that leads to decisions being forced down on operations managment that are very short term. It is not uncommon for ACS to force cutbacks in a quarter and then rehire 3 or 4 weeks later.
FORGET ABOUT THE BONUS PROGRAM!! It is a sham. Large bonuses are dangled in front of middle management-25 to 100 percent. But then Dallas applies various "multipliers" that have, in many years, reduced the bonus to 0.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Respect your employees in actions not words. Put in a succession plan, provide cross functional and cross BU opportunities.Doesn't RecommendDisapproves of CEO
