    I worked at Affiliated Computer Services full-time (more than an year)


    The training was thorough and the work environment was pleasant. The pay is reasonable and the benefits are good. My first 3 supervisors and manager were great!


    I was told by my manager if I declined a promotion I would not be considered for any future advancement. My 2nd manager declined me from using my banked sick leave to take care of a sick child when our call volume was at 45 minutes avail time and I had perfect attendance. For this reason, I quit.
    Working in corporate HR I also witnessed management taking advantage of their positions operating on ego rather than purpose and efficiency. There were inexperienced people without proper knowledge being promoted because they were friends with the manager. Managers and local HR representatives would tell employees there are restrictions to things like benefits, pay, or leave that were not accurate at all despite corporate policies to manipulate the situations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be consistent and put ego aside. There were members of management following protocol, while others were not. A professional environment needs to work on efficiency per policies in place, it is not a way for you to feel in control of other peoples lives or build a group of people that you keep around purely to stroke your ego. Those who work hard and diligently should be honored for that, those with expertise should be given opportunity, those who think buttering up is the way to rise should be shown performance is more important than socializing. A professional environment should be kept professional.
