I have been working at Agilex Technologies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company really does have some stellar technical people on staff—Some of the greatest I've ever worked with. The pay's favorable compared to other shops in the area, but the company does not maintain a bench of note.

    Cons

This is truly a body shop. You as an employee exist to bill the client for your time—nothing more, nothing less. The company has become top-heavy, with many more managers than active employees, which only exacerbates the pressure to bill at any cost. Forget about career paths or advancement, though—Once your contract is up, it's out the door. (Though, to be fair, their separation terms are slightly above average.)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make up your minds. If you want to be a shop known for deep technical skill, you need to invest in your employees. Provide them with advancement, encourage them to become certified (without taking vacation hours to do so). If, on the other hand, you're happy being known as a body shop, then say so openly and stop trying to hide it.

Either way you go, something needs to be done about the excessive management overhead.
