I have been working at Alego Health as a contractor (less than a year)

Pay nurses well, to increase IT skills and IT confidence, flexible hours, good lateral communication, more experienced IT people to call on quickly for troubleshooting. Expectations for newly trained nurses are reasonable. Room for advancement with experience.

Long hours on your feet, unable to sit down due to some employees taking advantage of "sitting on the job" instead of floating around the units to assist nurses/physicians. More time needs to be built into meal breaks to allow for distance walked, elevavators, lines for food especially when working in large hospitals. Benefits should be more obtainable since the work is project orientented, difficult to qualify for benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise the bar on who you hire, eliminate employees who lack professionalism right away. A more mutual trust and appreciation might be extended to the majority of hard working people that want to convey a professional Alego image and provide excellent service. Most nurses are hard working, service oriented professionals deserving of respects. Nurses do not respond well to being treated with an attitude of suspicion by "leads" and supervisors. Retention may increase if benefits were more obtainable. Perhaps include temporary medical staffing work into your agency for nurses in need of steady cash flow between scheduled IT projects/contracts. Allow these assignment hours to accrue to qualify for benefits.
