    A lot of vacation time, morning or short afternoon work hours, can wear regular clothing as long as it's appropriate around children, depending on the school site it can be a comfortable environment, some of the children are very nice and a pleasure to work with


    some kids are very difficult to work with and are rarely out sick, co-workers can be rude, you have to write your own lesson plans, you have to clean up any mess that the kids don't clean up, pretty much had to do the amount of work a teacher does and was extremely underpaid, you have to do outside organized games with your group of 20 or more children by yourself, you have to resolve conflicts, deal with rude parents (sometimes), you feel guilty calling out sick due to lack of coverage, not a lot of good training

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Groups should be no more than 10 students per Instructional Aide. It is very difficult to be thrown into a job with no experience whatsoever working with kids by yourself. They need to do A LOT of training or only hire people who have had a lot of experience working with children. The Youth Specialist needs to visit and spend time with the groups more often, if at all. There should be coaches or someone with experience to do organized outdoor games with the students. There should be monthly workshops on how to deal with difficult situations.
