    You may go through 4-5 interview rounds, be sure to spend as much time interviewing THEM, especially the person you would directly report to, as they spend interviewing you. I soon learned my VP was insecure, inconsiderate, controlling, and lacked some basic leadership skills. She was quick to point out the smallest of flaws and incapable of verbalizing and appreciating when a task was well done.

    Advice to Management

    Implement 360 performance reviews, so that employees have the opportunity to provide constructive feedback about their manager, just as mangers do with their direct reports. You may soon learn you have people in mid to high level leadership positions that lack fundamental leadership skills. For instance, there should be some way for an employee to express they have PTO requests and expense reports awaiting approval for weeks to months; without retaliation from their manager. Appreciate your employees. The company will continue to lose highly talented and skilled individuals unless you evaluate you own mid-level leadership and make changes.
