Review - Job Interview with Alta link - Document Control - April 2014

Current Employee - Document Control - Job applicant in Calgary, AB (Canada)
Current Employee - Document Control - Job applicant in Calgary, AB (Canada)

I have been working at Altalink full-time

    Pros

This company had advertised a Document Control job position on a free job site ad, Calgary AB, April 2014

    Cons

A 3rd party person acting on behalf of Alta link phoned me re. interview screen phone call re. my job application. An in-depth phone interview proceeded which started off with confirming my identity plus being asked for my personal home address. Also questions such as how much did you make in the last job, how much do you want in this job proceeded, this person would not take anything but a dollar amount for this last question? No follow up call for an in-person interview from this company resulted after this phone screen call.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Before a job offer is made - asking for the applicant's home address is taking liberties with asking unnecessary personal information from a job applicant. I will be filing a complaint with the Alberta Privacy Commissioner about this - ie. a job interviewer can ask if you will have problems getting to work on time or a question of that nature but asking for your home address before hand is unacceptable!
