I worked at Amec Foster Wheeler full-time (More than 10 years)

Relaxed environment. Interesting projects if you are willing to travel. Smart, talented engineers and scientists (for the most part). Decent benefits.

Utilization is stressed ad nauseum. Employees are vaguely but surely threatened with their jobs on a weekly basis if utilization goals are not met. Management is tone deaf and reeks of cronyism. Hard working employees go unrecognized while management hires incompetent project managers and pays them top dollar to ruin projects. Some employees should have retired years ago but are hanging on to collect a paycheck. As a result there is no room for other employees to grow. Redundant levels of management (e.g. four regional health and safety managers in a three state region).

    Advice to Management

You have succeeded in beginning a brain drain by ignoring good employees. Stop running the place like an inverted pyramid scheme.
