I have been working at American Cancer Society full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Excellent vacation time and benefits

    Cons

In 2010, InfoCision secured $5.3 million for the American Cancer Society, the largest health charity in the U.S. Yet according to the Society’s government fillings, InfoCision kept 100 percent of the funds it raised, plus $113,006 in fees from the Society.
What is worse is that the Bloomberg report claims the charities actually encouraged InfoCision telemarketers to lie to constituents about what percentage of their gifts would go directly to the charities. InfoCision scripts that both the American Diabetes Association as well as the American Cancer Society had approved instructed InfoCision solicitors to answer, when asked by potential donors, that at least 70 percent of the money raised will be used for charitable purposes. However, in documented contracts with InfoCision that same year, both nonprofits said they expected that InfoCision would keep more than 50 percent of all the funds it collected during the campaign as payment for services.
The above information has been verified by the Giving Institute in an article written by Robert I. Evans & Avrum D. Lapin ofThe EHL Consulting Group, Inc.
