I have been working at American Express full-time for more than a year

Very flexible with work/life balance. There are several departments that allow for working from home 2-3 days a week. You won't typically work later than 530/6 on any given day. Its very rare that you'll get hit with a "fire drill" where you're scrambling to get something out at the last minute. Good benefits, decent pay. Good opportunities to move around within the company.

Far too much governance/legal/complicance type hoops you have to jump through. Trying to get the simplect approval requires having 5 meetings over the course of months. If you are someone who thrives in a challenging fast paced environment, this is not the place for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire like half the people that work here. There are A LOT of "in the way people" - aka people that have no idea what they're doing or that do not have a strategic bone in their body. A lot of people here just do what they're told without thinking for themselves. Rethink the way you do everything. It is nearly impossible to do something "new and innovative" here. Way too many road blocks.
