I have been working at American Family Insurance (More than 8 years)

When working in an agents office your experience will depend on the agent and their attitude. I have worked for a couple agents, one was very stressful the other is great. They each work differently and you negotiate your pay and duties directly with your agent. If you enjoy sales and customers this is a great job. Overall customers are nice and if you find a positive agent to work with you will have a great experience.

The Agents do receive a lot of pressure from their managers. Some agents may get overwhelmed and stressed out if they do not have a tendency to stay positive which will then be feed down to you. You work very closely as a office so what is going on with one person is going on for everyone. Great communication, leadership, outlook and multitasking is needed to keep things smooth.

    Advice to Management

Agents are trained on selling and the ins and outs of products but not day to day management of the office and staff. They need more advice on leadership skills and managing life and work pressures. If you can keep positive you will not wash out so fast it can be a great fulfilling career as long as they can maintain there happiness.
