Easy job get. You can work 7 12 hour days a week if you want. Low stress low demands. Assistant managers most often try to make the place a little less threatening and demeaning. They tend to be descent people. Good benefits Kaiser for health insurance, delta for dental and vsp for vision. Huge positive is the way the owner does business. No games, no lying, no negotiating, good value and honesty for the customer is why this company owns 3/4 of the statewide business.

Daily repetitive and often demeaning and condescending sales meetings. 1950s corporate culture. The owner will change the rules or remove personnel at the drop of a hat. At least at my store they tend to overstaff the floor so you have 1 to 3 people starving out a month. The biggest con is the boredom. With the floor always overstaffed it can be really boring. They will never cut anyone because they need you there to clean a half hour to an hour every night. You will also answer phones for 1/2 hour a day and you will be forced to sit in an empty room for another half hour on weekends. It is straight commission so you do all of this and all of the sales meetings unpaid. Your time is not respected because your time costs the owner nothing. They schedule open close open so your tired by the end of your week. Retail hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Record and listen to your sales meetings. Remove the condescension and repetition.
