I worked at American Girl (less than a year)

    Pros

Loved working as a retail associate. The employees are nice, not commission based so sales associates are mostly friendly, and the teamwork between departments was great.

    Cons

Spent time in both Doll Hair Salon and as a regular associate. The dynamic is different in DHS--very cliquy, reminded me of high school. Stick with retail.

Management could be manipulative at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep integrity at the forefront of your interactions with associates. Many of your management techniques have a lot to do with manipulation--when associates catch on to that, it can make us pretty bitter.
