I worked at Americans for the Arts full-time (more than 3 years)

Its a national organization who literally wrote the book on arts advocacy and is a great chance to work with multiple discplines and learn about how policy works

Absolutely no strategic plan. Significant lack of leadership and senior staff who have been in place for far too long.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a long hard look at what is not working. Establish a legitimate communications plan and hold people accountable to their goals and programs. Stop developing programs just to do "more" and instead concentrate on "quality" rather than "quantity". Take a strategic look at reorganizing the organization and make the necessary investments to enable people to do their jobs effectively.
