I worked at Americas Society/Council of the Americas as an intern (Less than a year)
The people here are so nice and supportive. Although I was not able to stay for very long as an intern, I am still in touch for dozens of people from ASCOA. I can't think of any other internship where I made those kind of deep connections. Plus, they pay their interns.
Like at many non-profits, there is not a lot of room always for advancement. A job is by no means guaranteed after an internship - only if a position happens to open up while you were there.
Advice to Management
Because most of the interns are post-college, perhaps have a more guided system to help them find employment after the internship.
