    I worked at Anika Therapeutics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The work life balance was fairly decent, most are in at 8:00am out at 5:00pm. The office building was modern and open with plenty of parking.

    Cons

    Forced to stay in the office and work until the end of business day during snow storms, discouraged from leaving early due to weather issues (even when government enforces all cars off the roads). Also discouraged to work from home or take the day off when weather becomes a problem. Lacking when it comes to corporate events, outings, social activities, or any engaging perks. High employee turnover. Anika seems to be a stepping stone in ones career, but certainly not a place to grow within or climb the corporate ladder.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees more. The people here are great and hardworking, but certainly not being praised too highly or even recognized at times for their efforts and commitment. Offer more social events (on and off site) for your employees, have more random perks- promotional items etc. are always a fun way to show you believe employee moral matters. Promote internal growth. Acknowledge and act when promotions/raises are merited.
