    I worked at Ann Taylor part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    GREAT employee discounts (50% plus opportunity for 60-70% for exceeding goals). I worked here through college and took full advantage of the employee discount before leaving and entering the full time workforce.

    I worked at two locations - one more of a boutique style in a high end outdoor shopping center and one in a popular mall. The boutique location especially put a lot of focus on building relationships with clients rather than a quick sale. This allowed for private events with our top clients, keeping a client book with notes and contact info when new shipments came in, etc. Made it feel like a high end experience to customers without the high end price tag.

    Cons

    Upper management is slow to address problems but quick to point them out. There was never enough hours given for properly completing a store set, so product ended up getting moved during business hours - does not give off a good impression to customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay closer attention to what your stores are saying - they are your bottom line. Focus more on personal growth, especially for mid management positions.
