Excellent upbeat Company, very friendly and attentive to your needs and training. Possibility of high bonuses, if you can even make the sale. Or if the client will even meet with you, which half the time they won't give you the time of day. You must be assertive, pushy, confident, VERY positive, and aggressive.
As an Independent Contractor, aka door-to-door salesman, it is nice being able to set your own schedule for the day... except this is not the case. They pitch to you that you only have to meet with two clients a day, at appointment times they set up for you. However, if the client won't meet with you, or you can't make the sale, then you don't get paid for that day. Naturally they encourage you to simply go next door and walk around to any business nearby until you can make a sale, and to make it a full-time job. It is a lot of hard work for only the possibility of selling something that day. The products they sell are credit card processing terminals, which almost EVERY business these days already possess. Therefore, most of the clients you meet with are already set up with their own processing equipment and won't switch to AppStars'. They do not cover your gas, there are no benefits at all. It is a draining job. Also, they're headquartered in California so I only dealt with them over the phone.
Advice to Management
Management is actually extremely friendly and helpful, I just did not feel fully prepared when going to my first day of appointments after only one day of training.
