I worked at Apple part-time (More than a year)
Good coworkers, mostly competent management, fun to work with a product you genuinely like to use, opportunity for a little advancement: you're probably not going to go from specialist to senior manager but maybe in a couple years you'll be working behind the genius bar. Lots of full time spots available (at least in 2012).
the usual retail cons: hours suck, pay is low (although this is the best paying retail job I could find), customers can be rude/entitled. The culture can get weird, especially for store meetings, teambuilding, etc.
Advice to Management
I know you think you have to do it all by the book, but bend the rules a little more often (especially senior managers and store leaders) and I think you'll have happier workers.
