    Pros

Bonus could be profitable. Lots of smart colleagues. Fast paced and always on the leading edge of technology. Good place to discuss and try out ideas.

    Cons

Frequent layoffs hurt morale. There was always talk about stabilizing the hiring and layoffs, but there was never a solid plan to make that happen. Santa Clara not the best location. The customers, e.g. Intel, TSMC, Globalfoundries are so far away.

    Advice to Management

Management seriously needs to address the business plan of hiring and firing on a regular basis. It hurts morale at all levels. While there is the natural business cycle, the policy of hiring large numbers of engineers and then laying off large numbers leaves the employees with a cynical view of the workplace.
