    I worked at Applied Materials

    Pros

High-tech environment, latest technology, good hard-working people in the lower ranks, maybe good for the Resume and future consulting opportunities.

    Cons

Currently managed by bean counters, clueless about technology. Transfering human resources overseas, an American company turned Chinese and Indian. Despite this and endless lay-offs, the stock is barely crawling, indeniable proof of the Executive Management incapability. The 'principles' by which the company is managed are just another example of pure hypocrisy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Executive management needs a serious facelift. They need to go back to being inovators and take into account the welfare of customers and employees, not only stock holders. Rather than waste millions of dollars on failed acquisitions and 'new enterprises', focus on what Applied used to do best, Semiconductors.
