    I worked at Arbella Insurance full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Good location if you are on the South Shore. All of the reviews has some elements of truth. Excellent work life balance, the parking lot is practically empty at 5PM. Most of the employees are great.

    Salaries for non exempt staff is competitive with the market. Non exempt salaries needs serious improvement. Not a competitive environment, the culture is extremely layback, maybe to layback. Definitely not stressful, more of a country club.

    Perfect company is you are contemplating your next career and want a paycheck while you search for opportunities . Great for a career change if you are seeking little responsibilities. Perfect MOMMY job!

    Cons

    The company is very focus on community involvement, which is admirable. At times in my opinion I think more focus should be place on running a profitable business. Technology investment needs to be a priority. Company behind the times where technology is concerned. Need to increase IT budget and hire skilled IT professionals to help bring the company to the 21st century.

    Promotions are based on who you know and who likes you, not necessarily skills. Most of the home grown leaders, would not hold these positions at other companies.

    Tenured employees will tell you they are there because they don't have the skills or education to go elsewhere.

    Would not recommend to someone seeking career advancement, only if it is a Senior Level position where change can occur.

    Hire and promote based on skills and stop with all the favors because of who you know. Treat all employees fairly. Create and foster a professional work environment.
