As remote scientific work, it was a great opportunity for additional earnings.

I worked at Ariadne as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

May be remote. Flexible or even free schedule. May be compatible with another work (e.g. if you do PCR/phoresis and have long idle intervals).

    Cons

Career opportunities are not assumed unless you have really outstanding skills in both science and IT. Salary was just slightly increased once a year. Manual data mining may be boring. Heavy intellectual load may distract you from the main job (if you have one, assuming it is also in science).
