    I have been working at Atria Senior Living full-time for more than 3 years


    This company is dedicated to being the best service provider in the senior living industry. Starting at the support center, they help every community across the nation, start their day with a quick meeting with communications, support and Q&A with and for all the staff and directors together so that everyone is included in updates and can have questions answered daily. Communications is excellent. At this meeting staff is acknowledged. It makes us all feel proud to be a part of the team. So the stage is set every day with not only this meeting, but a later meeting for the next shift since it's a 24/7 industry. We also have a group, and often smaller, trainings every month. We can be promoted because this is a growing company & they promote from within whenever possible. Benefits and rewards and bonuses are good. Employees tend to stay for a very long time which makes it a nice environment to work for so many reasons, the biggest is that they are happy and the seniors feel confident they won't lose their staff that they love. It also is good because everyone knows their jobs well and are rewarded for exceptional service, which helps their income. It means employees grow with the company. Employees live the mission statement with pride. The directors have regional support as well as national support. Overall this is a very organized and well-oiled machine.


    Although there are cost of living increases, staff awards increases, staff rewards for exceptional service and long term incentive checks, and bonuses, which all add up, the entry level pay starts low. If you don't stay with the company long you wouldn't recognize the growth potential. You apply for an hourly job or a management position in this industry because of your role in the community and because of the good you do not because you will earn the same type of money as in higher paying industries. So occasionally someone starts working there w/a bad attitude and you notice them like a sour apple.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Streamline the computer programs and cut the paperwork down. Some of the computer tasks seem redundant. It doesn't make sense to spend valuable time working on a computer program that asks the same questions more than once. The computer support is absolutely excellent, knowledgeable and fast, but the new programs are cumbersome.
