I have been working at Avid Technology full-time (More than 5 years)

Avid is still the industry standard for professional broadcast news, shows, and film. It is still attempting to stay innovative, although many customers are considering moving to the competition's products.

Worst management and executive leadership. New management has never worked in this industry and have no idea what Avid's customers need and expect. They are also totally clueless as to what Avid products are. This makes them incapable of speaking to customers so they depend on much lower paid employees to do it for them. The executive leadership team has come from the CEO's old company Open Solutions. A company that worked in the banking not the FILM, MUSIC, AND BROADCAST INDUSTRY!! None of the leadership team that has been brought in from the CEO has lasted even close to 2 years. They've all quit or got fired which says too many things about the CEO. He specifically took them in because he worked with them before and the relationships fizzled because his head is the size of the moon and thinks his crap doesn't stink. It looks like the CEO wanted the job to get invited to the Grammy's, Oscar's, and Emmy's hoping to meet famous people and get in the scene. He barely speaks to the customers and only cares about the stock price. He's cut employee benefits and thinks he's a genius for saving the company a few bucks by doing this.

    Advice to Management

Avid used to be on the top 100 list of best places to work, did you know that? The ignorance of the industry and Avid products makes customer's upset and management very difficult to work with for the employees that do know these things. Stop hiring people with no industry experience. Stop being so negative and give positive reinforcement, everybody needs it. Think about Avid becoming one of top 100 companies to work for again! Have employees fill out a review of their managers performance for their boss to see. Employees are reviewed by their manager and nobody knows how well or bad the manager is performing. This would be extremely helpful in figuring out who should be at Avid during this embankment we are on and who SHOULD NOT BE.
