I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No cap on commission Base pay Benefits Pto Vto Slack management if the location has a union Due to industry high season you have tons of customers

    Cons

Schedule is by senerioty Management is for customer service and the managers will take off your sell in 2 seconds If you don't sell it will effect your commission negatively Lots of rejection because customers have already been sold to by their travel agent Rental agent is only to upgrade and sell excess insurance that is truly useless Low season is dead High season is crazy and there never is sufficient fleet to meet demands and promises made by company making customers angry and not willing to buy BUT you pretty much set your own prices with upgrades and have tons of customers for high season. I made Over 15k in a month during peak season and averaged 4k a month for the rest of the year plus base pay. It is a very hard sale but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easy. I quit because if I was so good selling to people who didn't wanna buy I can imagine how much I'll make to people who do wanna buy a product. Most sales agents are unpleasant because customers are unpleasant There have been rental agents in the same position for 40+ No room to grow Only airport locations in high tourist areas thrive

    Advice to Management

Have more patience with sales agents because the job is tough and keep in mind customers know you will take off the sale and only agreed to it because they knew they can get away with a free upgrade from a subcompact to a bmw
