I have been working at Avvo full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Avvo hands down is the most amazing company I've ever worked for as a salesperson. Another reviewer kinda stole my thunder as they mentioned pretty much everything I was going to mention. This is the first organization I've worked for as a salesperson where they didn't treat you like your were replaceable or like what you did for the company didn't matter. Avvo cares about their employees and they care a whole helluva lot about their sales team. Selling with honesty and integrity is highly valued. All they ask of you.. come to work and do what they hired you to do. And do the right way, the honest way. How hard is that? There is a zero tolerance policy for faking dials, lying to attorneys and even being disrespectful or disruptive to your fellow colleagues. Upper management loves Avvo - and that trickles down to the salesfloor.. I LOVE AVVO. I bleed blue and white. They've worked hard to create an amazing company culture and it's one I'm very grateful to be a part of. I've never worked anywhere where management is as approachable as they are. We are a pretty large salesforce (nearly at or over 100) and we have smaller teams with managers.. those managers are approachable and care about you being successful - if you're struggling or need help - they're there for you.. just ask for help.. they want to see you make money, because they know how good it feels.. because they were once salespeople.. they were your teammate before they were promoted.. deservedly promoted. The promotions.. fantastsic. Avvo promotes from within like crazy! And it's always very well deserved. It's such a great feeling to cheer for my colleagues when they're promoted.. it shows me that I too can be in their shoes if I just continue to work hard. Upper management as I was saying is also very approachable.. very personable, very real and very honest. Transparency is key at Avvo. There are never any surprises. I love this company. The culture is amazing, the product is amazing and very easy to sell, and I can come to work and just SELL without being micromanaged or having to deal with any other silly "sales" crap that can sometimes bog a person down and prevent them from just selling. My mind is boggled by the negative review.. seriously.. oh boo hoo.. my manager is buying us lunch again.. how horrible! Oh boo hoo.. I get free medical.. what a travesty! Oh boo hoo.. I'm asked to be to work by 9am and work until at least 4pm.. ..how sad! Oh boo hoo.. my CEO is approachable and cares about all us salespeople.. how terrible!! Oh boo hoo.. my colleagues are brilliant and work hard and are very helpful if you need help.. how terrible! Oh boo hoo.. there's a keg with two taps and it's open.. FREE BEER!! Oh boo hoo - their changing the commission plan to increase what we can earn during the holidays and decrease the amount we need to sell as it's a slow time and they still want us to make money.. How Dare they!!! OH Avvo.. what a terrible place to work! (Note sarcasm..)

    Cons

HR. They seem very overwhelmed. Switching teams can be a downer sometimes.. but I understand the need for it. I just get really attached to my colleagues and my manager at times. :-)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are so many perks to working at Avvo. I feel like such a spoiled salesperson.. it's hard to think of what can be improved. I'm so thankful. I would say, it would be nice to feel as if there were more of a relationship between the AM's and the AE's.. there is such a disconnect.. I really don't have a clear understanding of what it is they do every day. I think if we AE's all did.. we'd all set better expectations as far as what the attorneys should expect from their AM's. It feels like we're two different company's at times.
