Former Employee - Will Not Disclose in Bluffton, SC

I worked at BFG full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the people there are great people to work with. Some fun clients.

    Cons

No culture, it is a facade. They market themselves as an agency on Hilton Head Island they are not on the island. They are in warehouses in Bluffton next to an irish pub. Not glamorous at all. They have some cheesy graffiti and recycled material on the walls and call that culture. There is no process and the company is family owned. You have to fight for your reviews because they don't care to give them and they really don't want to give raises unless you threaten to quit, and they still don't guarantee them. Upper management do not align nor do they care about their employees. Long hours with no extra benefits or compensation. HRs mind set is that you should be happy to have a job. Also the agency is in South Carolina so it is an AT WILL agency so they can fire you without notice and without cause at any time and HR shoves that down your throat when you start and threatens you with any confrontation. The upper management do not understand forward thinking it is like Mad Men. No process or consistent work flow. Everyone is out to prove themselves against the next person. People throwing each other under the bus and undermining them. One word to best describe BFG - TOXIC.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No words are worth trying to help upper management. They won't change many people have tried - all failed. They are stuck in there ways and I don't for see them continue very long in this industry.
