I worked at BFG full-time
Before the place was broken up and turned into a shell of its former self, people were pretty satisfied with their projects. I did not work in Hilton Head or Greenville, but of course I was constantly interacting with those who did. Their workloads always seemed to be much greater, and they were constantly staying late to do their jobs. I left at 5:30 or earlier most days and managed a fraction of their responsibilities by being in a smaller office that was farther away. The work was pretty easy. Big companies with deep pockets when I first began. They are mostly scattering like cockroaches now.
The CEO wrote an article comparing his staff to service dogs during my tenure. That should tell you what his attitude was toward entry-level employees like myself. Like others have said, there are a lot of people who are paid more than they should be and tasked with less than their job title reflects. A few worked in my office. The low-country busybody nature of almost everyone there is particularly laughable. It doesn't take much to size up most of these cookie-cutter folks. They want to live the American dream by the beach or in a big city where they are 1%-ers... Same a(d)s it ever was
